I’m so excited that the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie is coming out soon. I knew I had to get started on a craft project for my boys (especially the oldest). What boy doesn’t love the turtles?!?
They’re totally cowabunga dude! Sorry I had to throw in a TMNT quote. ;-)
I wanted it to be a pretty easy craft for him so I decided to use toilet paper rolls. I just knew they would be perfect and of course, I just LOVE a toilet paper roll craft!!
Getting Started
I was super excited!! I had all the supplies on hand. I went and rounded everything up to get started.
Step 1 – Paint Your Toilet Paper Rolls
We painted on two coats of green paint, and let each coat dry 10 minutes.
Look at that serious crafter!!
Step 2 – Add Your Mask
Before we got started I already cut my masks out. He added a little glue and used a clothespin to keep it in place.
Step 3 – Add Your Eyes
Now let’s add those googly eyes!! Dab a little glue and firmly place your googly eyes on.
Step 4 – Add Your Mouth and Nose
Finally we added our nose and mouth!! I outlined the mouth so all my little guy had to do was trace it out and fill it in.
Step 5 – Finishing Touches
To finish up our turtles we added a touch a red paint for the mouth.
Now our turtles are perfect!!
Side Note: If you like this TMNT craft, my husband made toilet paper roll Ninja Turtle finger puppets. So clever!!
We had such a great time working on this project together. I think he was excited to work on a this project as well. He’s a BIG fan of the turtles. I even watched the TMNT when I was younger.
