It’s that time again Back to School Shopping!!
This year all three of my boys are starting school, Pre-K, Kindergarten and 2nd Grade. What does that mean… Lots of back to school shopping needs to be done and the first and most important is the clothes! So I teamed up with Gymboree and their new Back to School line for some cool “casual wear” clothes for my boys!
One of my favorite things to do with my boys is to include them in the shopping experience. They each have their own personal style and looks. They love looking through clothes and seeing what fit’s “their” personalities. So really try to include your kids in the whole shopping experience.
Another quick tip I love to do while shopping with my boys is bringing notepads and crayons for them to color with. Especially for my youngest son. It’ has saved us many times from a meltdown. You live, you learn, then you grab the crayons!
Shopping Trip!!
Once we walked in the store my boys got started right away picking out pieces that they really liked. Their Back to School line was right when you first walked in the store. We went to our local Gymboree in Hickory NC and the ladies there were great helping us out and grabbing sizes we needed for the boys.

So many options… Which one to choose?

I think we got a keeper!!

Showing off a little personal style. Love that smirk!

Now this is my fashion man. He love’s to dress up!
The Fashion Show
Now the fun part of our trip… Trying on the clothes of course!!
This is the second part of my shopping tip. Have fun with shopping and create a little fashion show with the clothes you picked out. They even had the ladies at the store excited to see them come out in their outfits.
As you can see these boys are not shy in front of people or a camera!
The ladies at the store gave my boys some fun stickers to color on while they waited for the other to get dressed.

He LOVES his stickers!
A successful shopping trip done in no time. We were able to grab everything we needed, from pants, shirts, jackets, sweaters and even some cool shoes.
The boys were so excited to run home and start looking through all their clothes we got from our shopping trip to show Daddy!!
The Outfits!!
Mr. Cool!
My “Mr. Cool” loved showing off his outfits. We went with layers for his look. One of my favorite things about this outfit is that you can wear it so many ways. I really tried to show the versatility in his outfit in these pictures. He can start off in a tee, then add a long sleeve shirt and finished off with a warm jacket on a nice cool Fall day.

Jumping for Joy!

So serious here!! ;-P

Yep, that’s “Mr. Cool” for sure!
Smarty Pants
Now this is a kid who LOVES clothes. He would wear a dress shirt and bow tie all day if I let him. We decided to go a little more “preppy and school ready” with his outfit. We went with several layers on his outfit as well. Love that there are so many different ways to wear this outfit!

Wait!! Hold the bus, I’m coming!

This is my favorite picture of his “fashion show”!
The Jock!
Oh yeah can’t forget about “The Jock” He loves throwing a football around with his Dad so when we saw a football shirt we had to grab it. He’s happy wearing rainboots around the house all day but when I showed him, his new sneakers he was excited to try them on. Can’t wear rainboots to school every day!

Hamming it up for the camera!

Too cool for school!!
Back to School ready!!
Now that we have several outfits picked out for their “casual” days at school, we are ready for school!
Gymboree has also teamed up with Brit & Co to inspire Back to School shopping. On August 17th they will co-host an event at stores around the country featuring Back to School hacks and family fun. Make sure to RSVP for this event and get special shopping offers during the event! I did!
I hope this post helps with coming up with some fun ways to keep the kids entertained during back to school shopping time. They really just love to be apart of it. It’s a perfect time to build special memories together.
I hope everyone has a SUPER SPECIAL school year!! This mama is sure excited all the boys started school this year!! I’ll get to blog more.
