I have been so excited to write this Day of the Dead Halloween Party post up!! I LOVE working on parties for the kids and showing easy and inexpensive ways to get more for your buck. SO when I teamed up with Oriental Trading I was really excited. I was able to pick anything from their Halloween line. They had so many options to choose from it was really hard to decide. At first, I wanted to pick costumes for the boys. They have some really cool Star Wars costumes that the boys loved.
But in the end, I decided to do a party. I do a Halloween party for my kids and their friends every year. So when Halloween comes up at the end of the month, I’ll use this setup again.
So let’s get into the details of the party!
I haven’t done a Day of the Dead party before and I really thought it would be fun to give it a try. I was able to get all my stuff for $75.00. I added some extra stuff that I’ll explain later in the post. Plus I’ll break down what I got from Oriental Trading.
They also have a great Fall section where I got the pumpkins for the table.
I just really love how bright and punchy the table looks with all the colors. I hate doing a spooky party for the kids. I really feel I got a bright and fun party using the Day of the Dead theme. It was a great choice.
I really think the paper lanterns are a great touch for the party table. It brings in another really cool element to the table.
I found some great pieces of scrapbook paper at Hobby Lobby. They really help make the table display.
I wanted a make a couple crafts for the table. I made some mini place card holders using their Day of the Dead paper straws. I did some during Valentines and they were really cute. Check out the tutorial to see how easy they are to make!
I made this simple pumpkin using some napkins and mod podge. The tutorial will be up over at Mod Podge Rocks soon!
This centerpiece is my favorite. They have a bag of 72 eggs for $9.00. I knew they would be perfect in these jars for a centerpiece. After I added the jars to the table I decided they needed something else. So I pulled some plants I had and it turned out super cute.
I am so excited with how the table turned out. It look’s nice and full and I know the kids and adults will love it when I actually have the party. I will think of some fun Day of the Dead crafts for the kids at the party.
So as you can probably guess I’ll be heading the Oriental Trading for all my party needs from now on.
