I’m finally getting around to writing my Fall decor post. My three boys keep me pretty busy.
I only get to write during nap time or after they go to bed. In between all the house cleaning, and the million other things I do. Oh yeah and “me time”. I guess writing my blog is considered “me time”. That’s not too bad right? I really enjoy doing it!!
OK back to the post…
I just LOVE decorating for the holidays. Any excuse to make some new crafts and rearrange my house. I know I’m no interior decorator and I’m not trying to be. I just enjoy decorating my house, making crafts and sharing them with everyone. In each area of my house where I decorate, I added a touch of blue. I just love this color and wanted to do something a little different.
Front Entrance
The frames on the wall were my original inspiration when I got started. I got all the frames for $2.00 each on clearance at Michael’s. I know I couldn’t pass up that deal! I got about 10 of them. But when I made the blue pumpkins, they immediately became the focal point. I just loved how the blue looked with everything. I had to add more in little spots throughout my house.
I like how the thumbtack pumpkins and the Tiffany inspired pumpkins I made look together. I’m just loving the color combination.
China Cabinet
The china cabinet has always been my favorite spot in the house to decorate. I change this area up for every holiday and season. That big area on top is really a great spot to work with. I was able to use a lot of my Mod Podge pumpkins I made. And, I was able to add a little color with my cork board frame I made (I will have the full tutorial up soon).
I also wanted to incorporate the canning jars again. They just looked so good with my Summer beach decor that I wanted to give them a Fall makeover.
Entertainment Center
The entertainment center is usually the last place I decorate. The pallet I made is so great to decorate around. I’ve used it for my beach and Halloween decor posts. I just think it gives the area a rustic look. And, a little touch of blue with the Dollar Tree frame I made.
The branches in the large mason jars are a staple for that area. Every holiday I just give the branches a makeover. For Halloween I spray painted them black, and Christmas I spray painted them gold and added some glitter.
Besides the spray paint, it cost nothing and really fills up the area. I hope you enjoyed this tour of my home.
I really had a great time working on everything. Now that I’m finished, I can start thinking of Christmas ideas!
