I just recently posted my Fall home tour. I’m super happy with how the tour turned out. I worked really hard on making everything perfect for the pictures.
But I wanted to create a post to show not everything went off smoothly. I have three boys 2, 3 and 5 and a dog. So getting the room picture perfect was a task. I hope you enjoy the real tour of my home and see my beautiful mess.
No Baby Gate Will Keep Them Out
I knew the boys would be running in and out of the room. Kids, tripod and a camera are not a good mix, so I needed to take extra measures. But a baby gate wont always keep my boys out as you can see.

To say the least the 2 year old was not happy about the baby gate.

wait for it…

The three year old laughs in the face of child proofing. No baby gate can hold him back.

After he jumped the gate he was determined to photo-bomb my shoot.

He’s lucky he’s cute…

Thank goodness daddy was home to help.

The dog even decided to make an appearance.
A (My) Beautiful Mess
Last year in MOPS (Mother’s of Preschoolers) our theme was A Beautiful Mess. That has always stuck with me. To look at my home as a beautiful mess the kids have made or even me.
After I was finished with my pictures for the tour I got the boys ready and began our day. This is what our house looks like a good deal of the time. It literally took the boys an hour to achieve this. I had to pull out the camera and snap some pictures.

My boys are always rough housing with the dog.

We have a playroom, but the boys always bring everything into the living room.

Sippy cups are always out and about (for the last 5 years).

Train tracks are a staple on the coffee table, and a Disney movie is usually on the TV.

Little guy having a morning snack.

He decided to hide some of his snacks. I’m always finding old snacks everywhere.
The Portrait
I really wanted to snap a picture of myself for the tour. But I’m not always fixed up. Most of the time I’m chasing the kids around in my PJ’s.

This is what I was wearing while taking pictures of the tour. Crazy I know. Now forget what you’ve seen!

Acting goofy for my pictures.

You can only hold a smile for so long.
My Boys
I really wanted to get a picture of me with my boys. The thing about that, they can’t sit still. This was the best picture we got.
I hope you enjoyed the good, the bad and funny outtakes of my Fall home tour. And also see that this bloggers life gets a little messy too.
