Before starting this project, you’ll need the following materials:
Today I’m sharing a super simple Basket Makeover, using DecoArts new Americana paints. Sometimes you just need a quick project to take your mind off things, right?!
My mom had this old basket sitting in her shed for years, I think it’s a vegetable basket she got at the Flea Market. So I ask if I could have it for a quick makeover and I’m so glad I did!
As you all know I’m apart of the core blogger team for DecoArt. Every month we have a fun challenge to create a project using a DecoArt product. This month our challenge was doing a project using one of their new Americana paints. I love being apart of their team and trying our all these new products, it’s been awhile since we’ve worked on a project together. I was excited to get started!
Basket Makeover Supplies Needed:
- Americana Acrylics 2oz – Moody Blue
- Americana Decor Chalky Finish Paint 8oz – Everlasting
- Paint Brush
Check out all of DecoArt’s new Americana Paints now available at Hobby Lobby!
Step 1 – Paint Basket
I used my “trusty” Chalky Finish to paint the entire basket first. I just lightly went over the basket with one coat of paint.
Step 2 – Add Accent Color
Now it’s time to add our accent color! I had a lot of color options to choose from. But I really LOVED this Moody Blue and knew it would fit in perfectly with my coastal decor.
I went around the basket with three costs, letting each coat dry for 10 minutes.
That color is fabulous!
Decorate around your basket with a blanket and pillow.
I love this look, and I can’t wait to start decorating around it for Fall. I can add some pumpkins and a new Fall pillow.
As always, thanks for stopping by and checking out my latest home decor project. I always love working on a new project for the house, especially this room. During quaratine we have remolded and redecorated the space. I can’t wait to start decorating for the holidays in this room.
I should have taken a proper before picture, but I forgot too. I got too excited to get started.
The space feels so much more open and bigger now.
