I’m back with a whole new Coastal Ornament this year!! Every year I have to add a new ornament to my coastal tree and I get so excited about this! It’s fun thinking of new ideas for the tree and house. Not too many stores carry coastal Christmas decor (Michael’s did have some great options this year) so I do have to make stuff to go with my Christmas decor. But you know me, I love a challange!
During the Summer I made a DIY Coastal Fairy Garden and after I finished I started thinking I could use these chairs again for Christmas coastal ornaments. Kinda like the coastal ornaments they have at Pier 1 Imports. But, I only paid $5 dollars for everything. The chairs were $1 each and the wreaths were on sale for $2.00. Now that’s a great deal right?!?
Let’s get some coffee and get crafting!!!
DIY Coastal Ornament
For this project you don’t need too much. I already had my paint so I just needed to go out and get my chairs and wreaths. I found these chairs at AC Moore for $1.00 each. They are a little smaller then the ones I used for my fairy garden.
Step 1 – Paint Chairs
I found some beautiful colors to paint my chairs. I only needed to use one coat of paint for this step.
The hardest part is getting in all those nooks! But it’s worth it!
Which color is your favorite?
Step 2 – Add Wreath
This part is super simple!! I just added a little hot glue to the back of the wreath and placed on the chair. See.. told ya!
Step 3 – Add Rope
Same with the wreath. Cut a little piece of jute and hot glue to the back of your chairs. This worked out great to hang them on the tree.
Finishing Touches!
Now you’re ready to hang on the tree!
They look perfect! I’m so glad I finally made these for the tree. I had all them done in about 30 minutes. That’s my kind of craft!!
So what do you think? I’m very excited about them. Like I said every year I add a new coastal ornament to the tree so this was such an inexpensive way to do that! I’m thinking of making a couple more in white and coral!!
