Beachy Starfish Craft

Beachy Starfish Craft

Summer is here!  So I thought I would get started with a fun beach inspired Summer craft for kids.  Last year I made a Starfish Santa and Snowman and they both were such a big hit.  So this year I wanted to make these cute Beachy Starfish craft.

I saw some of these last Summer for sale when I was visiting the beaches in Charleston.  I knew I could make some of my own with just a couple supplies.  So I snapped a couple pictures to keep for inspiration.

Let’s get these starfish ready for the beach!

Starfish Craft Supplies Needed:

  • Starfish
  • Paint
  • Mini Shells
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Tan Sand
  • Mini Fishing Pole
  • Flip Flops
  • Mini Sea Creatures
  • Mini Sunglasses
  • Paint Brush

Getting Started

Beachy Starfish Craft

Step 1. Let’s start off by hot gluing the shells onto the starfish for the cute bikini top. We used a low temp hot glue gun for this step.  Just add a small amount of hot glue to the back of the shells.

Quick Tip: If you have younger kids working on this project make sure to have adult supervision when using the glue gun.

Step 2. Now it’s time to paint in our bathing suits!  Pick out your favorite colors and use a thin paint brush for this step.

You can trace out your line first or just free hand it. Both methods work great!

Once your paint has dried you can go back and add some more details to their bathing suits.

Step 3. Next, let’s add our sun glasses.  I already had these sunglasses on hand from a previous project.  All you need to do is dab a small amount of hot glue onto the back and gently place on the starfish.

Step 4. Finally let’s fill in our scene.  Since it’s a beach scene, you’ll need lots of beachy options to choose from!

The fishing pole was a perfect touch, don’t you think?!

What a super simple project to work on, you can have these made in no time! Plus it’s a perfect keepsake for years to come.

As always thanks for stopping by and checking out my latest project.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!
