Hi…it’s me again. Thank you so much for visiting today. I was inspired to write today’s post from a recent art club project I did with my kids school. We did Circle Watercolor Art!
This was such a fun and simple project to work on with them. For my art club I have grades ranging from 1st – 6th, so this is perfect art project for kids of all ages.
With that being said a project like this could take two classes. I have them add their black circles in one class, and fill in the circles another day.
I originally saw this idea and was inspired by Cassie Stephens and projects she has done with her Art class. This was my inspiration. Make sure to follow her for more amazing art projects you can do with a class.
Circle Watercolor Art Supplies Needed:
- White Cardstock
- Black Paint
- Watercolors
- Paper Plates
- Cardboard Tubes
Step 1 – The Set Up
I made sure to have all the supplies ready on the table for when the students walked in the room.
Step 2 – Add Circles
I spread out paper plates on the tables with black paint. I had them dip their toilet paper rolls in the black paint and add circles all over their paper.
They can create any kind of pattern they want with their circles, just make sure they are overlapping them.
Let them dry either 30 minutes or overnight.
Step 3 – Full in Circles
Now it’s time to start filling in the circles with watercolors! They can get as creative as they want with this step.
Finishing Touches
I think they all turned out so pretty! Honestly you can’t mess this art project up.
As always, thanks again for checking out my latest post. This is my 2nd time around doing art club with my kids school. I love being able to this with the kids and trying a new art style each week.
