Craft Room Hanging Canvas Project

Craft Room Hanging Canvas Project

Hello everyone, I have a treat for you today!  I’m sharing a Hanging Canvases project I worked on with my Silhouette Cameo 4.  You see all these DIY versions, but these are already made and ready to use which I love!

Since it’s canvas there are several options you can do with it.  Painting, heat transfer, needlework, etc.  The possibilities are endless. I decided on using heat transfer. I have recently done several heat transfer projects and have become obsessed.  The hardest part was deciding what exactly I wanted to do with it.  I was sitting in my craft room and then realized why not make a wall hanging for my craft room!

So I grabbed my supplies and got started!

Hanging Canvas Project Supplies Needed:

  • White Hanging Canvas
  • Heat Transfer
    • Black
    • Mint
    • Glitter
  • Mini Crafting Iron
  • Silhouette Cameo 4

Step 1 – Iron Canvas

When I opened the hanging canvas package I noticed it needed ironed.  So I pulled out my “trusty” mini iron and ironed out all the wrinkles in the canvas.

Step 2 – Pick and Cut Phrase

Now it’s time to find and cut your phrase! I went into the Silhouette library and found the perfect phrase for this project.  I’m not gonna lie, my craft room can get messy!

Quick Tip: When doing a heat transfer project, you need to make sure you mirror the image before you cut.

Step 3 – Weed Phrase

I cut and weeded my phrase.  Since the word “craft” was in a different color, I cut them at separate times.

Step 4 – Add Phrase

Now it’s time to add our phrase! Place your phrase on the canvas, now place your iron on top. Do not move the iron around like you are ironing a piece of clothing. Keep the iron in place and continue to add pressure for about 30 seconds on each letter. Then peel the plastic part off.

The heat transfer vinyl went on the canvas perfectly!

I love how it turned out! This was so easy to make, you’ll have one done in no time!
