Craft Room Paint Organizer

Craft Room Paint Organizer

Hello friends, thanks for stopping by! Today I’m sharing a Paint Organizer for my craft room.

As you all know I’m apart of the core blogger team for DecoArt.  Every month we have a fun challenge to create a project using a DecoArt product.  This month our challenge was doing an organization project using their Multi Surface Satin Paint.

I found this wooden crate on the Darice site and I knew it would make a great paint organizer. I’m able to fit 42 bottles of paint in each one.  All I needed to do was give it a little pizzazz!

Paint Organizer Supplies Needed:

  • Americana Multi-Surface Satin Acrylics 2oz – Flamingo
  • Americana Multi-Surface Satin Acrylics 2oz – Coastal Waters
  • Americana Multi-Surface Satin Acrylics 2oz – Apple Green
  • Americana Multi-Surface Satin Acrylics 2oz – Shrimp
  • Americana Multi-Surface Satin Acrylics 2oz – Lavender Fields
  • Americana Multi-Surface Satin Acrylics 2oz – School Bus
  • Unfinished Wooden Crate
  • Paint Brush
  • Washi Tape

Let’s Get Started!

Step 1 – Pick Out Paint

It was a tough one to decide what color paints I wanted to use for this project.  I wanted to go with a rainbow feel for this craft, to match my craft room color scheme.

Step 2 – Tape off Edge

Next I taped the top off so I could easily paint the top part.

I only needed to do a total of two coats, letting each coat dry several minutes.

Step 3 – Tape off Sides

I wanted to paint strips on the sides. So I pulled out my “trusty” washi tape to create my lines.

Step 4 – Paint Sides

Lightly fill in the gaps between the washi tape. If you make sure to smooth your washi tape out then you should have crisp lines when you’re finished.

Step 5 – Add Paints

Now let’s get our paints organized.  I have lots of specialty paints, that I’ve tossed in boxes with no rhyme or reason.  So it’ll be nice if I need fabric or glitter paint I’ll know exactly where to find them.

Time to go set these up in my craft room!
