I am so excited to finally get started on some Christmas crafts!! I just LOVE decorating for Christmas. Growing up we would always start decorating the tree after Thanksgiving dinner and watch Gone with the Wind.
Since I’ve started decorating the house with a more coastal theme, I wanted to make some coastal theme ornaments for the tree. I have a TON of starfish around the house so I thought I would start with those.
For this post I’m also teaming up with a great group of bloggers for a Trim the Tree roundup!! We are all creating great crafts for your tree!
Getting Started
I rounded up some of my shells, spray paint and rope to get started.
Step 1 – Put Your Starfish Together
I added a little hot glue to the back of my shell and gently placed them together. Super easy so far right?!?!
Step 2 – Spray Paint Your Rope
I cut my rope and took it outside and spray painted it gold. I thought the gold would keep with the Christmas-y coastal theme I’m going for.
Step 3 – Add Your Rope
Now it’s time to add your rope!!
I dabbed a little hot glue to the back of my shell and placed one end of the rope on top. Then adding a little more of the rope to create my hook.
Finally I started wrapping the rope around the end of my starfish, hot gluing into place and cutting off any excess.
Step 4 – Finishing Touches
Voila!! I had this ornament done in no time. it’s gonna go perfect with the other coastal ornaments I plan on making.
I loved how my Fall coastal look went and I can’t wait to get started on my coastal Christmas.
