Hello friends, today on the blog I’m sharing how to make a simple DIY Heart Succulent Wreath. I originally did this as a Valentines project over at the Darice Blog. I do love decorating the house for Valentines, but I wanted to make a wreath that I was able to keep up all year long and not look too Valentine-y in the house.
I’ve been wanting to make a heart succulent wreath for awhile now, especially after I made my Clay Pot Succulent wreath last year. That was such a popular post on my site, so I decided to make another succulent wreath.
Succulent projects are still on trend right now with home decor, so I like to add new succulents projects to the house as often as I can. You can’t have too many succulents right?!?
Let’s get started!
Heart Succulent Wreath Supplies:
Step 1 – Add Wire
When I started this first step I just added the moss in the wire wreath, I then realized the moss would not stay in place easily. So I pulled out my “handy dandy” floral wire and wrapped it around the wreath. It worked great!
Step 2 – Add Your Moss
Next let’s add our moss into the wreath. This step is SUPER simple, I just started adding the moss into the wire wreath. When we add our succulents into the wreath that will help keep the moss in place.
Look how great that is! I just need to make a heart shaped moss wreath next, it’s so pretty!
Step 3 – Succulent Time!
Now the fun part….. Let’s add our SUCCULENTS!
I laid out my succulents first to see what spacing was needed.
I wrapped the floral wire around the succulents, I made sure to leave enough floral wire so that once I insert the succulents I can start wrapping the wire around the wreath. This will help keep the succulent and moss in place as well.
Step 4 – Add Your Rope
Finally, I added a little red jute to the back to hang the wreath up. I think the red is a great Valentine POP of color needed.
Now we’re ready to hang our Heart Wreath UP!
My favorite thing about this wreath, is it’s perfect for anytime of the year!
Looking for another heart shaped wreath, Lydia made a beautiful Flower Heart Wreath last year on the Darice blog as well!
