Hello friends, I hope you’re week is going well. Today I’m sharing a DIY Pizza Craft using DecoArt’s new Galaxy Glitter. I’ve been so excited to use this glitter once I heard it was being released! I LOVE using glitter, and the best part this glitter doesn’t get all over the place!
As you all know I’m apart of the core blogger team for DecoArt. Every month we have a fun challenge to create a project using a DecoArt product. This month our challenge was using any of the new Galaxy Glitter Paints.
After I saw these wooden pizza cutouts I thought they would make a perfect (extra sparkly) Pizza craft using the Galaxy Glitter. This would be a fun kids craft to do with the kids during the Summer or if your having a pizza party.
DIY Pizza Craft Supplies Needed:
Let’s get started!
Step 1 – Paint Wooden Cutouts
Pick out your paint colors first, I just used basic acrylic paints for this project.
I didn’t have the perfect brown for the crust, so I had to mix two colors.
Finally I used a pink for the pepperonis! Only one coat was needed for each section!
Step 2 – Add Glitter Paint
Now it’s time to add our glitter!! Woohoo!
For each section I did a total of three coats, but the more coats you add the more Glitter effect you’ll get. Make sure to let each coat dry for at least 10 minutes.
Here is DecoArts Pinterest Board for more Galaxy Glitter Projects.
Step 3 – Make Pizza Sign (Optional)
Now this is an optional step you can make if you like. I made this sign to go with my wooden pizza cutouts using my Silhouette Cameo. You can hot glue the pizza’s to the sign or just lay them around a party table, if your having a pizza party!
You can even add it to the kids bedroom or play room. Pizza’s, taco’s and even hot dogs are popular decor now if you can believe it.
I painted my wooden board, added my phrase with vinyl and that’s it!
I really liked the phrases “You’ve stolen a pizza my heart” or “Hey Homeslice” as well.
Finishing Touches
See how cute these glitter pizza’s look!
I ended up adding two more coats of Glitter with the last two picture for a total of 5 coats.
I was testing the paints around before I used them, here are some examples of the galaxy glitters.
