Happy Tuesday everyone! Today I’m sharing a craft I made over at the Darice blog. A rainbow inspired craft. But not just any rainbow inspired craft, a rainbow unicorn craft. I’ve been eyeing these wooden unicorns on the Darice site for awhile now. I knew they would make a cool kids craft. What kid doesn’t LOVE a unicorn craft right!?!
This project would be perfect to decorate for a unicorn or rainbow themed party as well! You can even set up a kids craft table for anyone to make their very own unicorn to take home.
Let’s get started!
Rainbow Unicorn Supplies Needed:
Step 1 – Paint Unicorn
Let’s pick out our paint colors! I went with a fun pastel rainbow color palette for this craft. Bright and cheerful is what this craft is all about!
Two coats of paint was all that is needed for each unicorn. Let each coat dry 5 minutes.
Step 2 – Add Glitter Paint
Now it’s time to add some sparkly glitter to the unicorn horns.
Just paint on your glitter and your set! Depending on how much glitter you want, you will need to add more coats. I did a total of three coats for these unicorns.
So SPARKLY!
Step 3 – Add Details
Now it’s time to finish up by adding the eyes and mouth! Use a pencil to draw out first.
Then go over with a thin paint brush and black paint. Now we’re finished and these unicorns are looking AMAZING!
Step 4 – Paint Hello
I really wanted to add another fun element to this craft project and make something that would be cute to add in a room.
Paint the outside border of the Hello first. I went with purple for a nice surprise POP of color.
Then go over the front with your rainbow color palette.
This Hello and rainbow unicorns are going to look great together.
I really think I need to work with this color palette again soon! With three boys I don’t usually work on kids craft projects like this. I’m more of a dinosaur craft mama!
As always, thanks for stopping by and checking out my Rainbow Unicorn Craft! I hope this craft inspires you to make some fun colorful rainbow unicorns too!
Looking for more rainbow craft, then check out my adult themed unicorn craft I made a couple years ago.
