I love game time with my boys. My oldest is a big fan of tic tac toe. While pulling out my Halloween craft box I found a pack of felt spiders I got at JoAnn Fabrics for $1.00 last year on clearance.
All the sudden I thought why not use them for a game of tic tac toe. Of course I had to pull out my “handy dandy” washi tape to create my board!!
Getting Started
You can use whatever you want for your tic tac toe pieces. Since it’s Halloween I decided to use the felt spiders I had on hand. BUT I think I will use different things for each holiday or season.
Step 1 – Prep Your Space
Pick your perfect spot for your game board. I had this table in my laundry room and used it as my board. But a coffee table, kitchen table or kids table would work perfect!
Step 2 – Add Your Washi Tape
Next I got started on creating my tic tac toe board. I lined 3 spiders up so I could space them apart properly. Then added my washi tape.
I love how easy it is to create my board using the washi tape!!
Step 3 – Ready to Play
Next get your tic tac toe pieces together and your ready to have some FUN! Just make sure have 5 pieces for each side.
Step 4 – Finishing Touches
I couldn’t wait until my son was home from school so we could start playing! I literally had our board done in seconds. The hardest part was picking which washi tape I wanted to use.
I think this is a great project to do even if you don’t have kids.
Of course my oldest had to show my 3 year old how to play. I think the three year old was more interested in just moving the spiders around the table.
But they had a good time playing together. I love seeing the boys play together. Building special memories together, they just needed to ignore me taking pictures. Believe me this will be added to our scrapbook!
