I’m so excited to share with you a project that I worked on with All You Magazine! They contacted me about creating a dog costume for their magazine. I worked on a couple costume ideas, and they picked the loofah!!
I didn’t need to take any step by step pictures for them, so I don’t have any. Sorry. But I did write the steps out, but if you have any questions please let me know!!
Also a BIG thanks to FloraCraft for sending me the decorative mesh that I used to make this costume!! It worked perfect and looks just like a giant loofah.
I love the idea of creating a fun handmade Halloween costume for my dog. I wanted to make something easy, but also make it comfortable for my dog to wear. This year, I decided to make her a giant loofah. I had this costume done in no time, and it’s so easy to put it on and take it off her.
Step 1 – Grab your shirt and mesh. Then (starting from the back of the neck), bunch up the mesh and hand sew into place.
Step 2 – Work your way around the front of the neck, but make sure to keep a nice full look when bunching up your mesh. Then, sew into place.
Step 3 – Next, start around the dog’s waist with your mesh (still keeping the nice a full look when bunching up). Once you’ve covered the shirt, cut off any excess fabric.
Step 4 – Pair it with a matching rope leash and your dog’s ready to show off it’s new loofah costume.
Here it is in the magazine!! I’m in there too!!!
Here are some behind the scene pictures of the photo shoot. My Sadie bear did a great job, she’s pretty professional. No DIVA here!! But she does want me to contact some dog food companies for a new gig.
I also did a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle dog costume that I will be sharing with you as well.
This was such an exciting opportunity to work with All You Magazine. A big thank you to them for contacting me. I hope I get the opportunity to work with them again!
