WOW, I can’t even believe Spirit Week is already here at my kids school. We all love Spirit Week in this house, we will take any chance to dress up for a theme! All my boys love dressing up in DIY Costumes, it’s just so much fun!
Since I have three boys and we have 4 days that we have to dress up. I headed over to the Dollar Tree to see what I could get inspired by for their costumes.
This day was twin day, while browsing around I came across these aprons, that looked pretty artsy, which I loved. So I grabbed them up, then headed over to the paint brush section and got a couple paint brushes. Found some cute mutchases and used a paint pallet I got from there a couple months ago. BOOM perfect DIY costume!
Less then $4.00 each. Now that’s a deal to me!
Update! They won 1st place for grades K-6th!
Easy Spirit Week Costume
Let’s get started shall we!
These aprons were super cute, but I had to give it some details of my own. I pulled out some pretty paint colors, for some POPS of color.
All I needed was a paint brush to add my extra detail. Just add your paint all over the apron. Make it look as messy at you want. You can even get the kids involved with this project and make it a kids craft.
Let dry an hour and your all set to start wearing it!
Next I added some paint to the paint brushes! This will be a fun detail the kids can hold for pictures.
I found this paint pallet at the Dollar Tree a couple months ago. But I didn’t see any when I was there the other day. If your Dollar Tree does not have them, then you can cut one out of cardboard and add your paint colors.
I also found these mustaches at the Dollar Tree too. I buy these mustaches pretty often for my boys, they just LOVE them and look super cute.
All Finished!
My sweet little artist!!
As you can see they are pretty simple costumes to make for Spirit Week with your kids. Stay tuned for more ideas for Spirit Week, next I’ll be posting our nerd day costumes.
A couple years ago I did a fun Art Themed Birthday. This was probably my favorite party I did for any of the boys. It was so much fun to work on.
