I wanted to do a kids Halloween craft that involved all the boys. I really like the idea of making their feet little Ghosts.
I have always said I love a hand or footprint craft, and this one was perfect for all the boys. My Little Ghosts of the House are super spooky for the Halloween season.
(I didn’t get to take step-by-step pictures for this footprint ghosts craft. I’m sorry for the inconvenience. I know you guys LOVE the step-by-step pictures I provide. Sometimes it’s not the easiest with three little ones.)
Getting Started
I decided I wanted to do my Halloween crafts on canvas and hang them in my playroom.
I used an 8×11 canvas, but if you prefer, you can just use cardstock for this craft. I got the kids and supplies prepared and was ready to begin.
Step 1 – Paint Your Canvas
I painted the background with black gloss paint and let dry for 15 minutes.
Step 2 – Create Your Ghost Footprints
I stamped each boys feet separately and let dry for 10 minutes each before I did the next one. The good thing about canvas and gloss paint is, if you mess up the prints, you can just wipe it off and start over.
Once I got all the boys footprints, I let dry for half an hour to make sure there were no wet spots. My 2 year old really liked the feel of paint between his toes, I think they all did.
Step 3 – Finishing Touches
Once my paint was dry, I wrote each boys name in glittery puffy paint above their ghost footprint. Then of course, I had to make them “The Ghosts of the House“.
I displayed it on my art wall to add some Halloween decor to the kids’ playroom.
I think this is a great piece that I will cherish and keep for a long time. I was really happy with how it turned out. This might be one of my favorite crafts with the boys.
The boys just grow up so fast and this is something that I can always treasure.
