Hello friends, today I’m sharing a new Pegboard craft, BUT with a fun theme… FORTNITE!! My boys are seriously obsessed with Fortnite. So creating a Fortnite themed pegboard for them to display their POP figures on really scores me some major mom points.
As you all know I’m apart of the core blogger team for DecoArt. Every month we have a fun challenge to create a project using a DecoArt product. This month our challenge was using any of the Americana Premium Acrylics for a wall art project.
I love this paint and have used it for several projects already, like this Flamingo wall art I did for Valentines last year.
So let’s get started!
Fornite Pegboard Supplies:
- Americana Premium Acrylics – Carbon Black
- Americana Premium Acrylics – Quinacridone Red
- Americana Premium Acrylics – Titanium White
- Americana Premium Acrylics – Primary Yellow
- Pegboard
- Washi Tape
- Paint Brush
Step 1 – Create Your Design
Since I really wanted to create a Fortnite look with this Pegboard, I did some research on their color schemes. They use a lot of bright colors like Pinks, Purples, and blues. I told my hubby my idea and he immediately loved it and came up with an idea in Photoshop similar to a graphic we saw on the Fortnite’s Instagram page.
Step 2 – Draw Out your Design
For this step I used a ruler to make my lines, then went over with some “handy dandy” washi tape to keep my lines crisp.
Step 3 – Add your Paint
Next, I wanted the perfect color pink that matches the Fortnite color scheme. I mixed the Quinacridone Red and Titanium White to create a bright pink shade I needed!
I did a total of two coats, letting each coat dry 10 minutes.
Once the paint dried, I pulled the washi tape up to reveal my crisp lines!
Step 4 – Add Second Coat of Paint
Now it’s time to paint the second half of our Pegboard white. Don’t forget to tape the second half off as well.
Step 5 – Paint the Shelves
Finally we need to paint our shelves. What I love about this paint it goes on so smooth and dries fast.
Finishing Touches
Now let’s display our Fortnite Pegboard! This looks great hanging on the boys game room wall.
My boys were really excited to display some of their new POP figures.
Thanks for stopping by as always! I can’t wait to share more projects I’ve made for the boys new game room.
