I’m so excited to be apart of The Great American BBQ virtual potluck!! I really wanted to work on something fun kids can do at a BBQ. Everyone always remembers to bring the food and drinks but activities for the kids are sometimes forgotten about.
I’ve done this game with my boys many times with old formula cans or coffee cans. I thought I would give the cans a little/easy makeover with some scrapbook paper.
It worked out great!
Getting Started
Since I saved a TON of old formula cans I decided I would use those for my game. They are perfect, especially since they have lids already.
I had my son pick out some scrapbook paper. I was super excited because I had 6 different colored stripes, which worked out great.
Step 1 – Cut Your Scrapbook Paper
I laid my can on top of the scrapbook paper and marked the spot where I needed to cut. I was lucky and it lined up with a stripe on the other side.
I cut my strip and was ready to add to my can!
Step 2 – Add Your Scrapbook Paper
I used some double sided adhesive tape to add my scrapbook paper. LOVE THAT STUFF!!
Step 3 – Fill in The Extra Space
The scrapbook paper did not fit around the can so I cut an extra piece off and filled in the bare spot.
Thank goodness I had a perfect stripe to use to fill in the space! Gotta love that!
Step 4 – Finishing Touches
We rounded up some balls and headed outside to have some fun!!
Step 5- Have Fun!!
My little guys were so excited to go outside and play. What kid wouldn’t be, right??!?
As you can see the boys had a great time playing. I think this ended up being a great idea for an outside activity for a BBQ.
I hope you can stop by and check out all the other ladies great ideas and dishes. Plus we will be giving away a $130.00 Amazon gift card!
