Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping by, today I’m sharing a super easy kids craft you can make this Halloween! It’s a Gingerbread Zombie Craft!
I was actually inspired by this project after seeing a gingerbread zombie cookie on Pinterest. When I was testing the paint out I did do it in brown (classic gingerbread) but I didn’t feel like it had that “it” factor. Since I’ve done a couple other Halloween projects this year in the neon color scheme, I thought why not give it a try. I loved it!
My hubby actually came up with the idea of painting a couple black and adding the neon detail. I think those are my favorite.
So let’s get started!
Supplies for this craft:
- Wood Gingerbread Cutout
- Neon Paints
- Paint Brush
Zombie Craft
If you’re having a kids Halloween party, playdate, or even doing this project for a class, make sure to get everything prepared first. Thin paint brushes are a must for this project, especially to get the little details done.
Step 1 – Paint Your Zombies
Paint all your zombies a solid color first, using the neon paints. I found these wooden gingerbread men on Consumer Crafts, but I’ve seen them in crafts stores too. I think they’re .30 cents each.
After the neon paint had dried I went over a couple of the zombies with some black paint letting the neon paint peek-a-boo on the sides. Let dry five minutes.
Step 2 – Add Zombie Details
Now the fun part, letting the kids add their details to the zombies. They can get as creative as they want with this step! You could even do a couple beforehand to help inspire them.
Finishing Touches
What a fun and simple craft you can do with the kids for Halloween this year! Especially for the kids that are a little older and want to do something different.
Of course I couldn’t do it without these amazing neon paints. I’m really getting into this neon colors for Halloween. It’s something different.
