How to Make a Santa Paintbrush Ornament

Santa Paintbrush Ornament

If your looking for some FUN holiday inspiration, than you’ve come to the right place! Today I’m sharing a super cute kids or adult craft.  Santa Paintbrush Ornament!!  I made these over on the Darice blog last month.  I’ve seen projects like this on Pinterest and I’ve been wanting to attempt my own version for awhile now.  I’m so happy I finally did!  I could see a whole Christmas tree with these on it!

You’re definitely going to love how easy they are to make, and your little one is going to love help making them. Let’s get started!

Santa Paintbrush Ornament Supplies:

  • Paint Brush
  • Faux Fur
  • Paint
  • Glitter Paint
  • White yarn Pom Pom
  • Mini Red Pom Pom
  • Paint Brush
  • Hot Glue

Santa Paintbrush Ornament

Start off by picking your favorite colors for this project.  You don’t have to go traditional Christmas colors!

Step 1 – Paint Handles

Two coats is all you need for this step!

Step 2 – Add Your Face Paint

Now let’s add the face color! I found the perfect color beige for this.  I needed a total of three coats for this step.

Step 3 – Sparkle Time!

I really wanted to add a touch of sparkle.  You know me I LOVE some sparkle! These are GLAM Santa’s.

Step 4 – Add Fur for Hat

Time to add our fur for the Santa hat! I cut my pieces of fur to fit around the paint brush.  Then hot glued them in place.

It’s starting to look like a Santa hat now!

Step 5 – Paint in Face

Finally let’s add the eyes, nose and pom pom for the hat.

Just a touch of black and white paint is all you need for the eyes.  I was debating on adding goggly eyes, but I liked the idea of painting them on better.  If your making this a kids craft, then goggly eyes might be a better option.

To finish this craft, I added these super cute yarn pom pom balls to the top with hot glue.

Finishing Touches

If you plan on hanging this up then you can add a Christmas-y ribbon through the top hole.  These will look great on your Christmas!

I think it’s a perfect adult or kids craft to work on this holiday season.  I do a Christmas craft with my boys classes every year, and I think this Paint Brush Santa is going to be our craft!
