Don’t you just LOVE a paper straw crafts!? I sure do! Every year I like to create a new ornament to make with the kids for their Christmas Tree. So this year we made a Paper Straw Snowflake Ornament! These snowflakes are absolutely adorable and a little addictive to make!
You can get pretty creative with your color combinations and designs. A couple years ago I made Paper Straw Christmas Trees and they have alway been a huge success. So I was happy to finally check this craft off my craft to-do list!
Let’s get started!
Snowflake Ornament Supplies Needed:
Step 1 – Cut Straws
Let’s start off by picking out your paper straws and then cutting them in half. There are so many great paper straw options out there, but with this craft we decided on our favorite Christmas color combo, the mint and red.
Step 2 – Prep Snowflakes
Next, since these snowflakes are ornaments I needed to break the top part off so that I can use this as the center of our craft.
They POP off super easy!
Step 3 – Lay out Design
Now have the kids lay their design out before adding any glue. This will give them an idea of where to put their hot glue when ready.
We decided to shorten a couple of the paper straws to make different sizes.
Step 4 – Glue Down Straws
Let’s add our hot glue! If you have younger kids doing this craft, then adult supervision will be required.
Those paper straws aren’t going anywhere now!
Finally I added some twine to one of the snowflakes so we can easily hang it on the tree. I dabbed a little hot glue to the back and placed my twine down.
I don’t know which one is my favorite, each one has turned out unique like a snowflake!
As always, thanks for stopping by and checking out my latest project!
