I have been wanting to do a new craft using my thread spools and finally I thought {why not Christmas}! I haven’t used my thread spools since I made my washi tape thread spool decoration for my Spring decor.
I was excited to pull them out and give them a Christmas makeover!
Instead of using my apothecary jars, I decided I wanted to use my mason jars. Gotta love’em!! They are my favorite thing the decorate with. I’m always incorporating them into parties, home decor and how-to crafts!
Christmas Getting Started
The best part about this craft, was that I already had all the materials I needed. I have a TON of thread spools I got from my mom and a big assortment of washi tape.
I pulled out a couple Christmas-y looking washi tapes and was ready to get started!!!

I have seen where JoAnns or Michaels sell packs of thread spools.
Step 1 – Add Your Washi Tape
I pulled a small strip of washi tape off and wrapped it around my thread spool. I know that was pretty hard right??
Quick Tip: Just make sure you firmly wrap the tape around each thread spool. That will ensure it doesn’t start peeling off.
Step 2 – Finishing Touches
Once I was done wrapping all my thread spools (which wasn’t hard, but it was time consuming), I was ready to display, yay!! I pulled out a few different sizes and styles of mason jars then added my thread spools.
I am LOVING the look of these in the mason jars. And during Valentine’s Day, I can add a couple pink ones to match…loving this!!
I displayed two of them in my china cabinet and one on top of my entertainment center. I will be posting a Christmas tour of my home soon and attach ALL the pictures there.
