I just had my fourth annual pumpkin decorating party and it turned out great (last year’s pumpkin decorating party was good too)! This year we decided to go with a theme for our pumpkins: Witches and Wizards.
I just had my fourth annual pumpkin decorating party and it turned out great…
The kids Halloween party is one of my favorite’s of the year (besides birthdays). I love that the kids get all dressed up in their costumes. Really, who doesn’t love seeing those kids all dressed up in their cute costumes?
Display Table
Just like with all my parties, I start with the backdrop first. I found this awesome polka dot wrapping paper at HomeGoods and had to grab it. I just LOVE polka dots and knew I wanted to use it as my backdrop for the display table.
After my backdrop is chosen I decide what I’m going to put on it. I had a Halloween banner I wanted to add, but it just got lost in the polka dots.
I remember that I bought these wooden frames at Michaels during the summer. I pulled them out and painted them all white. I lined the backs with cardstock.
Since we have a witch Halloween theme going on in the house, I wanted the center frame to display a witch hat.
Spooky Treats Table
I always have a big potluck at my Halloween parties. Everyone brings a “spooky” treat for the kids. This year I was pretty impressed with what everyone came up with.
We had a TON of snacks for everyone!
I think after this party…we were all stuffed and overloaded on sweets. And it’s not even Halloween yet!!
Witches and Wizards (Pumpkin) Decorating Station
I set up the night before {making all the witches and wizards hats for the kids to decorate}. We usually just have the kids paint their pumpkins. But all the kids are older now and we wanted to get a little more creative with it.
I think the kids had a blast working on their witches and wizards. Plus, I was able to pre-make the faces for the kids. I used some vinyl, my Silhouette Cameo and a downloaded font I found on Lil’ Luna.
They worked out perfect, well at least most of the pumpkins (some faces didn’t want to stick). I also pre-made the stars and moons for the wizards hats.
The Gang
Here’s our little gang pumpkin decorators (or at least the ones we could get in the picture).
Another great party with the kids. All my parties are so much fun to plan and prepare. Seeing everyone having a great time (not just the kids) makes all the late nights of planning worth it :)
I can’t wait to see what I come up with for next year!!
Have you done any kid themed Halloween crafts or parties? I would love to hear about it!
